If you are in Madrid and you want to spend a romantic moment in a special place, there is no doubt that you are in the perfect city.

Madrid is a city that offers culture, leisure and romantic spots for those who know where to look. It doesn’t matter if it’s at midday, at sunset or in the middle of the night, there is always a perfect time and a perfect place for love.

In our list we bring you some of the most romantic spots in Madrid, for those couples who want to share an unforgettable memory in a unique city.

Romantic spots in Madrid

Palacio de Cristal

The Retiro is not only its pond, its paths and its gardens. There is no doubt that crossing the pond in a boat, even if you have never taken a boat in your life, is a good and very romantic idea.

Although the bucolic boat ride, the paths and trails that wind through the plants and trees and the gardens sound like enough reasons to visit El Retiro, there is more to it than that.

The Crystal Palace is an iron and glass structure that looks like something out of a fairytale. When you see it right in front of you, you won’t believe your eyes. It doesn’t matter what time of day you go, although it’s true that watching the sun go down with the Palacio de Cristal as a backdrop is something like no other. It’s a fantastic place to stroll around and enjoy the views, the sunset and the company.

El Templo de Debod

If we’re talking about sunset, Madrid… The Temple of Debod has to appear somewhere. It is inevitable not to mention this impressive monument, more than two thousand years old and donated by the Egyptian government to the Spanish government as thanks for its help in saving the temples of Nubia.

Watching the sunset here is a real treat for the eyes, but even more special is sharing that moment with someone you love. But you won’t just be able to sit and enjoy this magical moment. There is one more surprise.

The temple is located in the Parque de la Montaña, because if you go to the end of the park, you arrive at the Mirador de la Montaña de Príncipe Pío. And that’s the icing on the cake. Those views of Madrid’s monumental area are great; the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace, among others, accompany you to say goodbye to the day.

El Capricho

We are a bit further away from the centre of Madrid, but every step you take away from the historic centre will be worth it when you reach El Capricho Park, in the district of Barajas.

Bridges, fountains and even a pavilion add colour to a stroll through one of the most romantic and beautiful parks in the Madrid Region. Lots of vegetation and plenty of privacy, if you know how to look for it.

We only have one warning about the park; it is only open at weekends. So you have from 9am to 9pm to enjoy this romantic corner of Madrid.

Jardines de Sabatini

The night is the refuge of lovers, and if you have any doubts, stop by the Sabatini Gardens, in front of its central pond, and admire the north face of the Royal Palace. That moment will be something you and your partner will remember forever.

The rest of the park also has a completely different atmosphere at night than in broad daylight. Although this corner is one of the most romantic in Madrid and, without a doubt, one of our favourites.

The garden of the Sorolla Museum

We don’t leave the gardens, because we have another little jewel, a hidden gem in the heart of Madrid; the garden of the Sorolla Museum.

This garden was designed and created entirely by one of our most international painters. Its charm, its colours and its atmosphere take us to the Andalusia of the Alhambra and the Alcazares. When you are inspired by love, you give love to others, and this is the clearest example. A walk through time in one of the most romantic corners of Madrid.

The sky of Madrid

We don’t mean that you take your partner and take them skydiving. Although if that’s what you like, there are several companies in the Community of Madrid that are dedicated to that. But no, we don’t go that way.

Getting close to the sky in Madrid will make you closer to your partner. And here’s an idea for you, the best viewpoints and rooftops in the capital. It’s true that many rooftops are designed for partying, but others offer a wide variety of drinks, relaxed music and fantastic views of illuminated Madrid, such as the Azotea del Círculo de Bellas Artes.

This is the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the company of your partner, to share experiences, stories and secrets, making Madrid not just another visit, but a destination you will remember for a lifetime.
